finally saw this dvd after waiting for my local blockbuster to keep it in stock so i can get it.

anyway, the cinematography and editing were great in this movie and it kept the pace going and kept you anxious when it wanted the audience to feel that.

Chris haarhoff did some beautiful Operating. horizon was steady, clean whip pans. the stair shots were good (you could tell an actor hit the Rig in one scene) and the crane step off into a sprint run was nicely done imho...

I just felt the urge to compliment him on this and feel it is a good thing to pat the Operators on the back since so many people are starting to take the steadicam for granted...

also something worth noting:

i also listened to the commentary from the director and he mentioned that the Studios now ask if scenes or the production can be shot in toronto (for reasons we know why ) and he felt strongly that this needed to be shot in FL to promote the authenticity of the movie and the storyline, so i applaud him for taking a stand on that.

hmm.. seems it would be a hard sell to try and scout locales in toronto to look like any city in florida, but its hollywood and i know it could be done somehow...

I have to agree that Out of Time had some great shots. I also like how the director(in the commentary) said he tried to move the camera in towards the actors, especially on the stair sequence, instead of having them move across the frame. This made the audience feel closer with the actors. I think that is a great tip to try next time for an action sequence.

Keep it real and God Bless,

Skottr
