Premium Members Wing Gee Posted June 27, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2006 I'm trying to get an idea of what the operating weight of a gold spring arm is. I have a 3a sled, and will probably be using anything from a dvx,hvx or vx2000. I want to get an idea of how much more weight I need to add to the arm to make the arm work well. would an extra 13lb weight be enough? would make it around, a 20lb camera. Basically i'm going to get a slab of steel with whatever weight I need and sandwich it between the top stage and camera. Thanks Wing

Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted June 28, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 28, 2006 the 3a arms feel pretty springy with lighter loads -- they are best near the top of their wieght range. A heavier cage will feel more like a real camera and help you with your stamina too. I'd say get the camera and cage combo up to at least 25 lbs...30 lbs is better. rb
