3A gold spring arm minimum operating weight?

I'm trying to get an idea of what the operating weight of a gold spring arm is. I have a 3a sled, and will probably be using anything from a dvx,hvx or vx2000. I want to get an idea of how much more weight I need to add to the arm to make the arm work well. would an extra 13lb weight be enough? would make it around, a 20lb camera.

Basically i'm going to get a slab of steel with whatever weight I need and sandwich it between the top stage and camera.

Thanks

Wing

the 3a arms feel pretty springy with lighter loads -- they are best near the top of their wieght range. A heavier cage will feel more like a real camera and help you with your stamina too. I'd say get the camera and cage combo up to at least 25 lbs...30 lbs is better.
