Electric Vehicles optimized for steadicam owners/operators?

Hello!  I'm not sure if this has been discussed before – I tried to do a forum search but I didn't find any other similar threads. In light of our current climate crisis the world is facing, I've decided to make the personal decision to decarbonize as many aspects of my life as I can.  That including my personal vehicle, which is still currently a gas-burning car from 2010.

To that end, I was wondering if any Steadicam owner/ops here drive EVs, and if so, what brands/models?  Do they have issues packing their gear into them?  The Tesla brand is obviously quite popular, but the fact that they currently only produce relatively small sedans & SUVs  [EDIT: I was mistaken, I now realize that the Model Y is a hatchback] seems like it may be a challenge for cargo?  (I seem to recall seeing Garrett Brown driving a Tesla of some kind, although I don't know if he is still frequently needing to load his steadicam package to set these days ;)). I would love to hear other people's suggestions or thoughts!

Hey Howard,

I drive a 2021 Hyundai Kona Electric and I am able to fit my gear pretty well into my car. It's not the largest interior cargo area, but its enough. I think it would really depend on how much gear you're packing, but as long as your cart compacts pretty well it should be overall fine. The Kona has interior cargo space of 45.8ft cubed. If I were shopping for a car today, I'd definitely go for the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Much larger cargo area, 59.3ftcubed, and you can charge batteries from the car if you ever had the need! Alternatively, Hyundai will be releasing a full size SUV, the Ioniq 7 in the next year or so.
