Premium Members Kareem La Vaullee Posted July 20, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 20, 2006 Hi all, I will start this topic with a weird setup I had on the shooting with the new 416 : (edit : Picture will be back soon, smaller ! ) (edit : Picture will be back soon, smaller ! ) They needed a wide angle static shot inside the Sorbonne, the Grips where gone on the next location building a crane on tracks with remote head for a complex shot on the beautiful Alexander III bridge that is across the Seine river near the Champs-Elysées, so without the proper equipment I had to do like that... It did the trick and the DoP found the set-up great. Now your turn ! K.
Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted July 20, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 20, 2006 Okay. It's not Steadicam but had to shoot the POV of a sniper thru his scope. Continued in the next post Continued... And the resulting shot Hopefully Standards and Practices will let us air the "Shot"

This is the Action-Unit for Bangkok Dangerous, with Nicolas Cage. Never saw him though, only the stunt-doubles. Quad-bike (700cc) with hardmount (my design + Klassen arm) Lite-Panel on the camera for nice reflection on the helmet. Premium Members Charles Papert Posted September 8, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 8, 2006 What would have been a pretty easy Steadicam shot (rush in at gurney and boom up/tilt down to get a down angle on the patient's face) became more tricky when it needed to be handheld, so I enlisted dolly grip Sean Devine to join in once the camera needed to go airborne. What I would have assumed to have been a nightmare of wrestling the frame between two people was actually remarkably easy, given that we were both going for the same frame! We were able to track with the gurney into the ambulance with just the desired results.

Premium Members Charles Papert Posted September 23, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 23, 2006 Scary-looking Chris--were you buckled to that center column I hope? either way, I'd have the grips build out that platform for you next time, not much room for error there! p.s. before someone else says it, you'll need to redo your screen name with your full name... p.p.s. yeah Geoff, that was an XL, and the 2-man apportion of weight made it not that bad really.
