Kurt Warner
All I was just watching the Open back here in the States and saw a nice shot of an Op on a Handsfree ( Large Wheel ) getting some great shots of the golfers walking off the tee box and down the fairway. It was in an airport bar in Indy so I don't know if they spoke about the set-up but all the guys next to me at the bar all commented on the rig. Nice :)

Premium Members Jason Torbitt Posted July 21, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 21, 2006 That will sure save the legs...they tend to use the Steadicam at the 18th hole too, as the golfers make their way up the fairway, which must have been hard work - IIRC they got away with using a Flyer last time with a BBC radio camera on it. Premium Members Howard J Smith Posted July 22, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 22, 2006 Hi Guys It was the XT version and the op is Simon Wood, we (MK-V) have been working with him to get this ready for the golf and if anyone is interested we have this package available for hire/rental. He was soft mounted and had a Klassen vest, PRO arm and Deluxe MK-V Nexus. He got some great stuff and even more attention than any of us thought he would. If anyone has any picture or comes across any good pictures please can they email them to me howard@mk-v.com We have been flying the AR a lot with the HT and getting some amazing shots. It is the future... For more info please email me off forum. All the best Howard

Simon Wood
Hi all Apologies for stealing some of your glory and perhaps being the first to operate with the handsfree transporter at such an event. Many thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Just to clarify though, I operate totally independently of MKV as a freelance steadicam op and own my own handsfree transporter and full MK-V Nexus rig plus tracking quad bike built for Howard's superb nexus system. I would be very grateful if anyone has any photos etc of the event if they could send them to me .. The system seemed to work very well although not always easy when the ground conditions become unpredictable such as at a golfcourse.... no offs though!! With more time I feel sure the shots will become far more polished..... practice makes perfect!!
