Greg Watts Posted July 27, 2006 Report Share Posted July 27, 2006 First Flight with Sony A1U. Well, for the sake of documenting my progress, I give you folks my very first flight using the Merlin. Please be gentle. :) I'm gonna keep this blog updated as I get better (I hope I get better). I'll say that this is a blast to work with and I'm just sorry I didn't do this alot sooner. It's great for someone like me who loves to tinker with settings and boy are there tons of settings. :) UPDATE: After editing the footage and viewing it on my HD monitor I noticed there's a defect in the A1U lens (three days old mind you) and I'm sending it back to B&H for an exchange. What a bummer but I'm glad I checked it on a monitor because it's not noticeable on the viewfinder, LCD or at SD resolution but it's glaring at full 1080i resolution.
