Premium Members Daniel Stilling DFF Posted August 1, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 1, 2006 Hey all, I'm doing a shot in a week or so with this camera. it will be a 15 min continuous shot, so 800 ft mag will be on and the camera comes from Panavision hollywood. I'm prepping on friday, but I was wondering if anybody had any heads up about this camera. Does Panavision substitute the 4 pin XLR power?? is the start stop still the 2 pin Lemo?? I appreciate any inputs, Thanxs :D Dan
Premium Members Christopher T. Paul- SOC Posted August 2, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 2, 2006 I used to own one of these, and they are nice reliable cameras, overall. One caveat however... 800' of film in a coaxial type mag is going to be a fairly large shift in weight on a continious take as the exposed film is transferred from the feed side to the takeup side. Do you have a motorized top stage? If not be prepared for that transfer of weight. Otherwise I have done a number of multi-camera concerts with these systems and never had a concern. Premium Members Brad Hruboska Posted August 2, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 2, 2006 Daniel, the last time i used one was on apanavision shoot called Half Baked, with a very youg Dave Chappelle. It was standard 4 pin 12 V , and yes the aaton 2 pin start stop hermaphrodite lemo. It also uses an 8 pin lemo start stop which is the standard you get from preston if you order it. Confusing cuz the preston MDR camera port is the same lemo same pin config, so reverse the cable if it doesn't work. Brad.
