Brett Guthrie
Does the Anton Bauer Lifesaver Quad Fast Charger (Logic Series) type charger charge digital trimpac batteries? I am in a bind with these new batteries I purchased without a charger and am trying to find a charger before this weekends shoots. If you have the time please call me so I can buy this thing on ebay tonight. Thanks Brett 757-376-1823
Premium Members Jason Torbitt Posted August 3, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 3, 2006 Assuming that it is a gold mount charger, it will charge your digital Trimpacs PROVIDED it is a digital charger, i.e. it has an LCD display on the front. Batteries and chargers have Eprom chips and newer digital batteries generally won't charge on the older chargers - you will need an InterActive charger to do this. Premium Members Brant S. Fagan SOC Posted August 3, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 3, 2006 Brett-- If you have Anton Bauer questions, why not go to the source? Try contacting Paul Dudeck at 800-422-3473. If he can't get to the bottom of this, I'll eat my A/B MP-4D charger for lunch! Paul has been a great supporter of the Steadicam community for well over a dozen years now. Good luck. Best, Brant S. Fagan, SOC
Premium Members Ari Gertler Posted August 3, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 3, 2006 Just a suggestion, but you may want to purchase 2 double charges instead of the QUAD.This gives you more options in case the charger has a mechanical problem. My 2 dual charges have worked flawlessly for over 5 years, but it is good to know that I would not have a problem if one broke down, got wet, filled with dust, destroyed buy the dolly op running over it, or the cable becomes stripped. Just a thought, Ari Gertler
Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted August 3, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 3, 2006 There is another advantage to having two chargers. 2 (or 4) batteries can be charged at the same time
Premium Members Michael Stumpf Posted August 4, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 4, 2006 I agree, I use 2 Anton Bauer 2 port chargers for the same reason. If one breaks, I still have the other. And honestly I never use the second one anyway, as Dionic 90's last so long that I never have to charge more than 2 batteries at a time. I also agree with Brant, call Paul for all A/B questions.

I have two quad chargers neither if which has a lcd display that charge digital trimpacs. I don't know much about it but I have quad chargers with the two leds red for charging and green for charged that work fine. Premium Members Jeff Muhlstock SOC Posted August 9, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 9, 2006 There is another advantage to having two chargers. 2 (or 4) batteries can be charged at the same time AB "Titan TWQ" : 4 position charger that charges all 4 ports at the same time, not sequential , all AB chemistry. Its the "do it all" charger. A must have unit. keep a cheap 2 position unit as back up. Jeff
