Innokenty Vetkin
Steadicam pilot arm and A15 arm seem to look pretty much identical, how much different they really are?
Nelson Villamil
Hi Innokenty I just wanted to share some information about this. In context, last week I contacted Steadicam support by email,I wanted to confirm the part number of the pins for one of these arm. and their response was (copy - paste): "So looks to me like we basically just renamed the arm but it remains the same design. Here is the current A-15:" NOTE: to highlight, thank and highlight the fast and EFFECTIVE response from Evan Dunlevy from Steadicam customer service. They also attached this photo: It is also interesting to check out the database made by John E Fry (Good job, Thanks John). The database sshows: Max camera Weight = (10 for pilot and 15 for Aero), I think the limit is just in the gimbal, not the arm byself. https://www.johnfrysteadicam.co.uk/the-steadicam-database/ My 2 cents Edited December 18, 2024 by Nelson Villamil
Keith Wood
I got pretty much the same answer when I asked the same question, so moved up to a Flyer.

I wonder if the same thing happened to Flyer & Zephyr arms becoming A-30?
