patrick ortman Posted March 9 Report Posted March 9 Hi folks, So, I've been flying really light cameras like Canon C70 lately. Steadicam desperately wants more weight to fly nicely. I have some little screw-in weights I can add to the top of the camera, but I've seen pictures of operators with weight under the camera. It looks like it'd be faster for me switching from tripod. Basically I want to do something like this: stage->dovetail-> heavy "cheeseplate" weight-> quick release-> camera. Does anybody make this sort of thing, or do I keep looking online for thick heavy cheeseplates? I want to add at least a few pounds of weight. Probably more like 4-5 lbs. Which is a bummer because most cheeseplates are all about less weight not more. Thank you! Patrick Quote
Premium Members Jon Farmer Posted March 13 Premium Members Report Posted March 13 Janice Arthur sells practice weight plates that may serve your purpose. Her smallest is 6.5lbs I believe. You should reach out to her at steadijan@hotmail.com. Quote
Christopher Millham Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 I have the weight plate from Apex I use to practice with my a7iii. It’s defiantly more than 4-5 pounds but works great for me. https://apexcinemagear.com/products/steadicam-weight-plate?srsltid=AfmBOoqJ9cKkwLqVdSkp8L5KTMsglHDtxNso3-gvTLZwbNcS1wRghDD1 Quote
