awseome!

It s examples like that that show just how versatile the AR is. I think the scope and options offered by this kit are going to be far wider than the intended "going to low mode to high mode in one shot"

From what I have seen of it working it just works... it s like it s 100% mechanical the response is so fast, like it s hardwired to the level.... it s weird

Weird and amazing... A perfect technological response and innovation to our cameras losing weight and size.

I want one, all I need is for santa to win the lottery or for me to get lucky with some hugely rich old lady

Hi there Nestor,

Sorry for the delayed reply!

The MK-V Revolution requires at least 3 years Steadicam operating experience as you should be able to understand the theory and practicalities of setting up a normal rig...being able to balance your sled neutrally in horizontal mode is a daunting task, as we've been used to balancing within drop times vertically.

Once you've mastered the fundamentals of adjusting the arm and vest to suit your own posture, then moving with the MK-V Automatic Revolution (AR) will be more natural, hence at least 3 years experience is required (not just the odd days - I mean 3 years flying time).

Operating the MK-V AR, is nothing like a normal Steadicam system, this is because of the difference in balance. For more info. visit my own site www.ar-mcguire.com

Operators who've already been using the rig have found that its little nuances e.g. flipping high to low, having the directors preferred lens height, rigidity of the shot, leaning over tables, cars, rails...to name just a few, make the AR more of a practical camera tool.

The AR has now been used on quite a few productions now, and I hope that the creativity of directors will really start to shine through with it as a story telling tool.

Eric,

I am merely talking about my own experience with the kit, and answering any questions about something I know something about, through my experience of successfully using it.

I'm sure people would like to know about the kit.

If you would like to take me to task over anything that I post please, phone me at your earliest convenience.

pretty sad..the name change. Must have been fairly recent because I was just on Howard's site a few weeks ago checking out the new A/R demo with the roll (nice operating Chris -- I assume you did it) and I swear it still said Alien-Revolution. It made me want to get my hands on one! I thought it pretty cool that the A/R finally included one of the coolest features the prototype had since the beginning, a gimbal mounted controller for the roll axis.

Being acquainted with both Lynn and Howard, and knowing the story, it is just sad.

C'mon Ron, you need to save up for more toys for your family room.

The whole story is a bit bizarre. And no-one really wants to talk about it in depth (I'm sure the last few posts have drawn a blank with probably 97% of the readers of this forum).

It's definitely not one of the prettier chapters in the history of the Noble Instrument, that's for sure.
