JAN SCHMIDT - from Progear company in Denmark, be prepare that after you paid your money for you new rig you can maybe find your self in same situation as me (or lot of another buyers before you THING WELL BEFORE YOU BUY THIS IS MY ADVAICE TO ALL FUTURE BUYERS (I TALKINF FROM OWN EXPERIENCE AND I CAN PRUVE ALL) THANK YOU AND BEST TO ALL FROM ME

LONG STORY IN SHORT VERSION

:"My name is Milan Holec and I live in Brisbane in Australia. I am writing to you because I have a problem with a company in Copenhagen. The company's name is Pro GEAR and I don't now how can I get from them the rest of an order for goods that I have already paid for. They are not responding to my email or phone messages.

Here is the history of my dealings with ProGEAR:

30/08/2005 I paid ProGEAR 5047 EURO for a Steadicam rig (a piece of film camera support equipment). There were several different pieces of equipment in my order. This amount included postage.

On 27/09/2005 I paid another 350 EURO for some extras.

During this entire process, I have been dealing with Mr. Jan Schmidt at ProGEAR. At that time he told me it would take a couple of months to build the rig for me because he had to order all the parts and it would take time to make them. I understood this but did not receive my first shipment of goods from him until 2/2006. This is more than a couple of months and during this period it was very hard to contact him.

From the time when I received the first package in February 2006, it has been impossible to make any contact with him. After about 5-6 weeks I asked someone in Copenhagen who deals with him regularly to help me. My friend contacted Mr. Jan Schmidt and was told that there had been a mistake in the shipping charges. Rather than being charged to me, they had been mistakenly charged to ProGEAR. According to my friend, Mr. Jan Schmidt of ProGEAR said he would not ship me any more goods because of the problem. HOWEVER, Mr. Jan Schmidt at ProGEAR NEVER contacted me to inform me of this problem. I immediately contacted FedEx and arranged a refund to ProGEAR for the shipping charges.

On the 6th of April, I received an email from FedEx telling me that the refund had already been made to ProGEAR.

My last conversation with ProGEAR was in the first week of May. At that time he told me that he still had not gotten his money back from FedEx. However, I do not believe him because FedEx had notified me that he had received his refund almost a month before AND in the meantime, I had been charged by FedEx for the goods ProGEAR had sent to me. Since then, I have tried to contact him and there has been no response. I'm very tired of chasing him all the time. All the phone calls are costing me money for nothing because he will not respond anyway.

To sum up: I ordered and paid for a camera support rig from ProGEAR in Denmark in August 2005. I expected to have the goods within a few months, say by the end of 2005. But once I sent ProGEAR the money, they became very difficult to get in touch with. After many attempts at contact, I finally received a partial supply of my goods in February 2006. There was a mix-up with shipping charges that I straightened out IMMEDIATELY but I still have not received the last piece of equipment owed to me and ProGEAR will not answer my many telephone calls or emails.

What can I do now about getting my goods from this company? Is there any way you can help me get my last piece of equipment? Without it I cannot see what I am doing so my rig is useless to me. I have spent a year and many thousands of Euros and still do not have a working piece of equipment.

I appreciate your kindness in helping me with this matter.

Hi all;

I have read all of these posts and I am disheartened by the PROGEAR owner.

I am disturbed by his actions and they are clearly not a one time thing.

I propose that we do something and hit him where it really hurts, the shows.

Everyone of us and the SOA (as our group) should send e-mails/letters to the

show exhibitors saying his is an unreputable exhibitor and they should not offer him exhibit space.

We could make a difference and also "get our pound of flesh" from this guy's butt.

He cannot continue to make money off of us and then steal from us and get away with it.

This would put him out of business.

Anyone who is in the "know" send us show exhibitor info. and I'll gladly be the first to send off

an e-mail.

Since I am unable to get a direct message to Jan from ProGEAR in Denmark, I am trying to send this message to him via Steadicam Forum now. The message is this: Jan will you please take the monitor you have built for me to IBC commencing 07/09/2006 I am trying to find someone who is going to IBC to pick it up for me. Please contact me on either the Forum or on my home email address mholec@bigpond.net.au

STATEMENT OF SITUATION/INVITATION TO ANYONE GOING TO IBC

I have previously posted on the Forum about my dilemma with ProGear in Denmark. I know my English is hard to understand so have gotten help from someone in writing this latest message. The basic message is still: I JUST WANT MY MONITOR.

In 2005 I paid 100% to ProGear for a monitor and I still have not seen it. Jan at Progear won't contact me and has delayed and delayed and delayed sending me my gear. The delaying tactics go on and on and on. I have asked for advice before and received many messages from other ops who have suffered the same treatment. My thanks to Janice Arthur for her support.

I am offering a few hundred dollars to any op going to IBC who collects my monitor from Jan's booth and FedExes it to me. I have asked Jan to bring the monitor to IBC. It won't cost you a thing--I have a FedEx account for the shipping--and a couple of hundred dollars will pay for part of your expenses to go to IBC.
