Ebay warning

At this moment there is some guy busy on Ebay, selling a Preston system (old-wire style) and maybe more interesting stuff.

This is a hacker who uses many accounts from other people, as is confirmed by Ebay to me.

Be carful, he often puts it in unlogical places like this Preston set in Children Books, etc.

He also asks for direct contact to his email address, which is different from the"seller"

Though Ebay confirmed my suspiction and said it dealed with it, the same ad shows up, the next day, with a different seller.

So be very carefull!

Thanks Rob,

The same thing happend to me lately with a Sachtler tripod from the U.K. My bids were cancelled the other day, I received a warning from ebay and the next day same tripod, same picture but different seller name appeared on ebay.

Careful and just deal through ebay I would suggest.

Jens

Ebay are usually quite good on picking out these suspect / fake items. Someone hijacked my account once and tried to sell a motorbike off it. I was working away at the time, I got back to find ebay had dealt with it all and cancelled the auction. I would go with Rob's advice of steering well clear of anyone who insists you email them with questions rather than using 'Ask seller a question'.

<plug> And while I'm on the subject, I'm selling a PRO compatable video assist cable on ebay on the moment - yes, it's me, guaranteed to be real and geniune! </plug>

I've dealt with this before as well. I would just say if you're new to ebay...don't buy anything expensive. These hackers like to target newbies because it has a higher success rate.

If you ever see someone asking for money via WESTERN UNION....I guarantee its a scam. You can't trace western union.
