Training course / Classes in London or SF, CA.

Hi Guys,

I'm going to travel to London and then on to San Francisco, CA. I want to attend a steadicam training course and was wondering if anybody knows of a place where I can go? I know Tiffen Europe does a class in the U.K, but its far from London so won't be very convenient for me.

Is there anything in SF, California? Searching on the internet I've come up with something in PA, but that's way out of the way for me...

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Kundaal.

None in San Fran I'm afraid.

Check out http://www.thesteadicamworkshops.com/ for some upcoming workshops.

The one in Pennsylvannia has alot of history and resources as you are on the back door of the man himself, Garret Brown. Its a good one.

Also the link to the workshop in Maine: http://www.theworkshops.com/catalog/course...amp;SchoolID=21

Don't know if you've seen MK-V's coment in the workshops section of the forum, but they have a workshop running in a couple of weekends time from the 16th October for 4 days in Manchester, U.K.

After meeting and hanging around with the MK-V guys at IBC, I know this would be a great workshop to do.

If you cant make these, we have one running in Melbourne Australia in Janurary.

thanks guys....

there is a workshop in Glendale, California, but it just covers the Steadicam Flyer. The one run by Tiffen Europe covers "most models". It costs about 700 pounds though, that's more than twice the amount of any class in the U.S. has anybody taken this class? is it worth it?

There have to be more classes in the LA area, can't find anything on the internet though.

Hi Kundal

The Tiffen Europe workshop is at BBC Wood Norton which is an easy 2 hours or less from London by either train or car, accomodation is from as little as GBP38.00 per night - less than the train fare.

Next one starts 1st November, contact me directly on robin.thwaites@tiffen.com if you want more details.

Hi Kundaal ( how you signed your post- your member name ID is actually spelled differently. Which is correct, please? )

I'm teaching a two-day Steadicam Flyer Workshop in mid-December in L.A. at the Tiffen facility in Glendale. For info on that program, as Wil Arnot so generously mentioned up there, visit The Steadicam Workshops home page.

Hope to see you there !!

Has or will anybody ever run one is Canada? I'd love to take one up here to clean up any of my bad habits. Don't get me wrong, visiting the states is always very nice. It would just shave off transportational costs. Besides, Vancouver is a decent sized market. Flying there from anywhere in Western Canada is usually pretty affordable.
