andreas zeiner
hi there since i'm new to this board and to operating a big hello to everybody. now a short question concerning system setup - i own a glidecam smooth shooter and had my first "smooth shoot" shoot last weekend - no it turned out that the pictures are ok but far away from perfect - especially i have a slight left-right movement during walks ... i tried to increase weight on the sled but i'm not sure if this is the final solution ... is it also a matter of walking technique ? are there some instruction dvds, tutorials or links you could recommend ? i've search in this forum but haven't found the proper infos. and workshops in my area are more than rare - for not to say not available :-) greetings from vienna andy
Michael Binder
and workshops in my area are more than rare - for not to say not available :-) greetings from vienna hello andy... you are right, that there in vienna are not really workshops any more (the filmschule did one i think every year). but in my way, i went to munic at sachtler academy for a workshop. i was practising a year before on my own. But what i learned there in 5 days  just because we have an sachtler artemis, you can go there without one too  the link: http://www.sachtler-academy.de/ ... next workshop will be in november. i would advise you to go there! its worth the money! greetings from linz michael
andreas zeiner
hi michael nice to meet someone from the neighbourhood ;-) acutally i'm from amstetten - not really far from linz ^^ well - i think i will attend such a workshop - unfortunatly november is a bit tight for me - well i'll have a look when the next one starts and for the moment i'll do a bit of practicing, trying - are there any other resources you know to have a look at? greetings from euratsfeld/amstetten ;-) andy
Michael Binder
hello andy i have been in st. pölten last friday to do a steadicam-job :) one of the first things i dit was, that i got one day with an operator. he showed me a few things, so that you won't learn yourself things wrong from the beginning. very hard to come away from theese. and the other thing is: practise - watch footage - practice again - watch footage again - cry a little bit about it ;) so maybee if you have icq oder msn or something, maybee we can contact each other if you want :) greets michael
