Hi JobScholtze,

What did you think of the Artemis Gimbal? I have one, like it, but have not tried others, just wondering how it holds up to the others?

Thank You,

Philip

The one i tryd at the ibc was not right. If you point lens to the left, static balance, than point to right it was off. Also dynamic balance was not there. Curt told me it could be that it was of during transport or somebody did some with it and assured me that all his gimbals leave the factory tested and good. So i cant tell you if the are ok or not. The one i tryd was not ok. Also i didnt like the feeling, but thats personell. When i tryd it i just came from the tiffen stand and from the ultra :P So that isnt a big help eighter i guess.

I go out for my monthly National Guard maneuvers and come back to all this...

Thanks for posting everybody.

Didn't mean to open up a can of worms, fellas.

Rob Van G, Mr. Holway, Will, and certainly others, you guys definitely helped me understand the whole tool-free gimbal thing a little better.

For the record, the gimbal in question is a Progear 1.5" (I know, I know... I've read ALL the posts dealing with those dudes. Still, I got if off of Ebay for $400 and it will allow me to get my mk-v lite system up and running with my flyer arm.

Interesting to hear that the VZ has that sleeve that runs the length of the grip. That's the kind of thing I was talking about when I asked the question in the first place.

Thanks everybody. One day I'll get me one of these gimbals you fellas are talking so passionately about.

Regarding the Dbox 3 I'd have to say adjustment every couple of weeks and several times the last few days.

Wow that seems like a lot!?

Ive had mine for about two years now and ive always used it with xcs plates. havent had any problems with it (apart from the aformentioned lost knob). plenty of long lenses, zero vibrations, beautifully made. i couldnt recommend it enough.

Regarding the Gimbal:

Try all and make up your own mind. Don't bash Eric. He at least has used every single one at one point or the other... And he has a right (maybe a little less harsh) to an opinion.

About the D-Box 3... PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE start a new Topic under Donkey boxes/Camera Stages... I can't move this ones...

Thanks,

Erwin
