Rich Steel
Hello Folks, Can anyone tell me if you can achieve dynamic balance with the flyer? Is there enough adjustments on the unit to help achieve DB. Just curious as I was looking at buying one as more often than not I'm shooting with the HVX200 and I'm sick of humping the damn thing into a weight cage just to fly on my Master system. I've downloaded the manual from tiffen but the instructions look very similiar to the old SK system, which I owned many years ago and I know I couldn't achieve DB with that so thats why I'm asking if this newer model has more functionality/adjustment. Thanks in advance Rich Steel Steadicam Owner/Operator www.steadicams.com
RobinThwaites
Hi Rich You can achieve dynamic balance with the Flyer with cameras ranging from the Z-1 to the DSR-450 (was demonstrastrating that one yesterday). The drill is to angle the battery mount downwards instead of backwards. I have yet to try the HVX but any accessories that you can add for extra weight will be helpful. Premium Members Mikko Wilson Posted November 26, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 26, 2006 I flew the HVX200 on the Flyer back in the spring and DB wasn't a problem. I do agree that a little bit of extra weight on the HVX would help get the gimble up to a little better position. - Mikko
bobgilles
I fly the HVX with a Fox focus unit and a FMG6, it balances nicely on the small rig.
