New Steadicam Arm & Vest Introduced Today

My guess is about $3.5k-$4k list, discounted to around $3k from places like Adorama.

I bought a Merlin a few weeks ago for my Sony HVR-V1U, and it works very well. However, even with this cam which is one of the lightest 3 chip HDV cams available, we've found the merlin functionally impractical for anything except the shortest shoot period (e.g. 4-5 minutes or less). The vest should provide a wonderful solution for this. It also explains why Tiffen were operating the Flyer rebate running in November/December.

It will be interesting to see what the next generation flyer will be like, taking advantage of the new arm progressions and feedback from the sled design. Perhaps we will see a flyer 2 or ultra flyer not before long ?

On the Tiffen site but not quit direct viewable.. :

Hi!... I´m here again.

Well... I could work with that arm at the last Swiss workshop, under the eagle look of Mr. Garrett. It´s.. or.. it isn´t a toy. Well... It gets a good founcionement and gets you the results... stabilize the camera. Any way... It´s dificult (arround an hour and a half) to use it.

Best regards
