Hi Eric, it was a try-at-your own risk Unix hack I found on one of the unofficial Apple blog sites. I'll try to find it again and post a link to it for those who are comfortable in Unix. I just tried searching for it again but there's so many posts about 802.11n and Apple since yesterday that it's buried now.
