Premium Members jay kilroy Posted April 17, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 17, 2004 I don't claim to know any parties involved, but as an observer of this ridiculus thread, come on. It's obivious this guy Steve just wants some attention. If he didn't why come back to the forum? You said you'd fix the guys rig, you qouted him a price, stick to it. Now you leave and take the rig with you? Come guy, you can't be serious. You got your attention, you had your sick fun, now give the guy his rig back. Mitch Gross
Steve-- For all of the time I have spent following this thread I feel I must be properly compensated. It is MY time, no? So I am billing you $2475.00 for my labor in attempting to follow your logic. Payment can be made in Susan B. Anthony dollar coins in a sack to be left under the third tree to the left of the Main St. Post Office in Boise, Idaho. I will have a man in a window with binoculars so don't try anything funny or the cat gets it. Or you could give the guy his rig back ad we'll call it even. Premium Members Gustavo Penna Posted April 18, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 18, 2004 I followed the whole discusion and i was very neutral since i dont know any of the partys involved on this issue, and i also happened to feel the rage of not being paid by my services or my overtime at some time during my profession. But when i witnessed what (steve byro} did by making false votes to get only. money, rather than respect. i can only see him as a greedy person who doesnt deserve either, my attencion, bussines or Respect. I can only give you one advice. try it ! affter 12 years in the bussines it has worked for me. I RATHER HAVE ONE CUSTOMER A THOUSAND TIMES! THAN ONE THOUSAND CUSTOMERS ONE TIME... Anthony Hardwick
Unbelievable drama... wow, I've missed alot over the past few days I guess. There is so much that I would like to say about this ridiculous situation, the series of absolutely unethical actions Mr. Byro is clearly guilty of, and the twisted "logic" he uses to justify his actions and words. Instead, I will simply say this: Mr. Byro, return the man's equipment to him free of charge. This is the only reasonable solution to this dispute. No other options are acceptable. Period. Premium Members JimBartell Posted April 19, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 19, 2004 I stand by what I said. Assuming it is OK with John (after all, it is his decision) you show up with the sled and deliver it to John at no charge, I'll buy a round of drinks. I leave it up to David to come up with a date. Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted April 19, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted April 19, 2004 For insurance purposes I've got to get this thing resolved (it's a office Liability) So "OK"under one condition, once Jim is finished buying the first round of drinks I will buy the second and I hope everyone will show up (yes even you Eric). I can be in Los Angeles at anytime (with a 2 week notice). I would like to deliver the Sled to John personally at the party. So Ladies and Gentleman of the Steadicam Forum, Do We Have A Deal? Steve Byro Now this sounds like a FANTASTIC offer! I suggest we have this party during Cinegear at Dalts in Burbank. I'm all ears for suggestions though.l A lot of folks might be there so, if you guys want to split the bill on the round of drinks.... I think the Cinegear get together is gonna be packed enough without this going on there as well. We should make it a separate thing. I think the group would be rather large for the "exchanging of the sled" ceremony and the "Jim's buying drinks, WOO-HOO!" ceremony. Of course, that's just my opinion. What are the dates for Cinegear this year? I haven't heard yet.
JakePollock
Hell, if I had warning enough, I might even want to fly in from Taiwan. If for nothing else, I've got to meet the cast of characters in the stormiest drama of 2004! To all involved, I salute your tenacity (even you Steve: with all said and done, you stuck by your guns until you were made to see how it could damage you). And for all the other members to stand by John and help him get this resolved, it just goes to show what a strong community Steadicam Operators are. Rock on! Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted April 21, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 21, 2004 Ya know, there is no reason for a need to book Dalts on a Gorgeous Saturday afternoon (early evening) when we have got Manhattan Beach. Considering that most everyone will be at Cinegear at Universal in Hollywood Dalts makes total sense. It's going to be a huge pain in our butts to get to Manhattan beach. Dalts is where this should happen, besides everyone knows where dalts is....
