Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted April 21, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted April 21, 2004 Mitch: Yes, I've been told that John has been informed. Steve: Manhatten beach.. hmmm, I've never been there! That sounds like fun, however, I think Eric is correct, Dalts would be better because it is SOOO close to Cinegear and many folks stay in Burbank, near Cinegear and Dalt's, when they are here. Plus it's one of the Guild's "hang outs" Kind of like Al's restaurant in Happy Days. Except we don't have a Fonzy... I should say that one of the nice things about Dalt's, besides the food is that it has a nice patio outside if we run out of room. Maybe we can throw frisbies around the nice grassey area next to the patio? The waitresses are really nice and aren't bad on the eyes either! The best part of it all is the free parking and it's usually not that crowded. I could create a............ poll. guuulp I'm just kidding of course. (It's a good thing we all have a good sense of humor here!) But I'll go with the (dalt's) majority. (Just call me Mr. Subliminal)
Premium Members TerryWest Posted April 22, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 22, 2004 Hi guys! Thought I'd put in my two cents. What's your problem with Stevie! I had more work than I could handle when you guys were letting him fix your equipment. Please let him work on your stuff. I got a mortgage in Redondo Beach to pay (you know; volleyball, beer and girls!). Guess I'll just have to visit you at Dalt's after CineGear. Premium Members johnhankammer Posted April 22, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 22, 2004 For insurance purposes I've got to get this thing resolved (it's a office Liability) So "OK"under one condition, once Jim is finished buying the first round of drinks I will buy the second and I hope everyone will show up (yes even you Eric). I can be in Los Angeles at anytime (with a 2 week notice). I would like to deliver the Sled to John personally at the party. So Ladies and Gentleman of the Steadicam Forum, Do We Have A Deal? Steve Byro Steve, I accept your offer to return my equipment to me, free and clear, at a Steadicam Guild gathering in the Los Angeles Area, the time (as soon as possible, with two weeks advance notice) and place of which to be determined by Guild officers. After speaking with David Grove about it (the person who usually organizes the "meetings") he said he'd consult with Dan Kneece (another Guild organizer) and they'd come to a decision on a time and place as soon as possible. - John Hankammer
Mitch Gross
I feel like I should book a flight to LA in June just to witness this historic occassion. And they said only Nixon could go to China...

Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted April 24, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted April 24, 2004 I've briefed Dan on this and when he gets back this Sunday, from NAB, we'll come up with a time and place for the exchange. This is starting to feel a lot like "Alias." B)

Ruben Sluijter
Holy crap, I've just spent the better part of half an hour going over some of this stuff. Hadn't been online in a while and was made aware of these threads by someone else, had to see it to believe it. I have to admit this is some funny sh*t!!! I'm glad to hear that this problem has (apparantly) been resolved and I will certainly try to be there when the handoff takes place (I'm hoping I'll be invited David?). Let's hope that this childish behaviour was a one time thing, I mean really...going through all that trouble of making multiple accounts just to vote on a silly poll...dude, surely there's better ways to spend your time online (I'm thinking www.hot-extras&their-phone-numbers4free.com). I shall now return to the shadows for fear of being hit by the flames should this little flame war continue. Peace, Ruben "If you really clicked on that link, you're even sadder than me" Sluijter

Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted May 5, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 5, 2004 David, Yeah, June 11th and 12th is a good time (somebody who knows John should get his OK on the dates). Once a Date is set, I will make flight arrangements immediately. Ya know, there is no reason for a need to book Dalts on a Gorgeous Saturday afternoon (early evening) when we have got Manhattan Beach. What do you say to Volleyball on the beach and beer afterwards at some of the (on the beach) establishments in that area. Anyway, e-mail me as needed at, spectrabei@netzero.net Steve (Vollyball,Beer,Women, and Sunsets on the Beach) Byro Steve, I've talked to Dan and John. We've decided that Cinegear is indeed the best time for the Guild meeting & Sled Exchange. Here are the details: Date: Saturday June 12th Time: 6:30pm to ???? Where: Dalt's Grill Restaurant 3500 W. Olive Avenue, Burbank, CA. (818) 953-7752 I hope to see everyone at this years "International" Guild gathering!

Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted October 6, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 6, 2004 here is a quote from Steve on this company's web page: "What I like about being a special applications engineer is that I?m able to work with the customer" and "I like to conceptualize the customer?s needs and be able to deliver a finished product.? Hmmm. my $300 is burning a hole in my pocket! He never showed -- I was actually looking forward to this stupid thing being over. Premium Members David George Ellis Posted October 8, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 8, 2004 I happened to fall onto this sword of a thread wondering what all multiple "FREE JOHN'S SLED" avatars were about. Then out of fear of being an interloper, I hesitated to ask what the end result turned out to be. After finding that four months have gone by and no sled, I was disappointed. Then I saw that Byro used Steadi D as a "voter", I was down right pissed!! How could you Steve? And how could you?
