Premium Members Leigh Hubner Posted April 18, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 18, 2004 Hi All, I happened to catch part of American Idol tonight, (which in Australia is no doubt well behind in episodes from the US) and I happened to catch a totally kick ass steadicam shot. It started off wide angle to the right of stage, came around to the front into a tight shot of female singer. Did 2 360's around tallent then exited to the right zomming out wide just as last words were sung. The whole shot was just perfect. I love watching movies/tv and analizing steadicam shots, this one was a ripper!! I see guys talking about their flash Preston Focus setups (which I would love) but when you are zooming, focusing and being screamed at by a director, nailing a shot means your on the ball. Didnt see the credits to catch the operator, if you happen to read this, let me say, AWSOME!! Hope I can lift my live operating to that degree. Leigh Hubner Australia. Does Mr. Eastwood work wireless on American Idol ? I think he must have ( ? ) with all those 360's around the tallents. By the way what lens does Eastwoon use on that show ? Is it 4.5 or 4.8 ?
