Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted April 22, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 22, 2004 Being as cautious as anyone should be now a days. I was contacted by a Rick Givens from a company called North American Capital, He says they specialize in Financing on equipment especially Steadicam operators. Before I send out My Social to someone, I'd like to know. Does anyone on this forum do business with them? what has your experience been? Just doing my research. Not looking to get had by providing Bank Info, social, etc.. Let me know, email me, Thanks If this guy is for real and My credit pans out, I may just get a new sled. Yippeeee! Premium Members jonathan_hale Posted April 22, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 22, 2004 I was just at the PRO workshop over this past weekend and the GPI folks told me to contact them about financing for one of their rigs. I was given a different name to contact (Mike Medcalf), but it?s the same company. I was told that a few operators had some good luck with them in the recent past. But that?s about all I know. I too would like to hear if anyone has dealt with them in the past and what their experiences were like. Jon
Leon
Hey Osvaldo: I was reading this string from last year and was wondering how it worked out with North American Capital since I am now talking to them and want to buy a Steadicam. Any other Finance co. that comes to mind. Did you ever buy a new rig.?? Please give me some input as finding the right Loan co. is not easy. Thank Leon
Premium Members David George Ellis Posted March 27, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 27, 2005 Hey Ozzie, I bought my PRO through Rick Givens and company over at North American Capital back in January. Very good learning experience. I was forced to establish my business and run all over Brooklyn to get up and running. It seems as long as I keep making the payments, I should have no problems with them. They seem to be legit and fast on funding, so I would give them the thumbs up. I also know that they come highly recommended by Mr. Whitehouse cuz when I did my deal, I had to go through a vendor and not a private sale. Makes sense. Good guys, didn't feel rushed or being sold. I'd say if you have the chance to get something, do it. Good luck!!! David P.S. How did everything work out with the arm situation? I hope you didn't get screwed. When I spoke to Randy, I told him it's a Production thing and they needed to resolve it. I hope they listened.
