The Modulus 4000.....finally?

Oh boy, for a second there I thought the 4000 was actually shipping, then I saw the date on Terry's post. Oh well.

There could be light at then end of the 4000 mile long tunnel. I emailed CIT 7/20/07 asking if the 4000 was shipping yet and was told "We will not be shipping the Modulus 4000 until about mid-October". That was cut and paste from an email Phil sent me. So I hope they make good and start shipping, cause $2195 still sounds better than $4k, that is if it works.

Did you get your Modulus 4000 yet?

" The VTX-100 is a modernized equivalent to the Modulus 3000. Same transmit power, same channels, but smaller, more efficient (read less heat), more rugged (wide voltage acceptance, polarity protected), simpler operation. Two buttons change channel (no channel knobs to replace) and they can be locked (and unlocked) to prevent accidental changes. The channel select buttons are not membrane switches but circuit board mounted switches that can easily be replaced and the durable plastic overlay can also be replaced if damaged."

It’s a drop-in replacement for the Modulus, but can also be ordered with Fischer 4 pin wired Arri IVS (Canatrans compatible).

VTX-100 Specs

I wonder what is the difference from the VTX-100 and the VAT-25 , both from Dynawave at Crampedattic.

Steadicam forum topic on the VAT-25

To answer your question ~

*For the record, the VAT-25 name has simply been replaced by the VTX-100 as the product code.

The products have identical technical specifications.

DYNAWAVE technologies ltd. is pleased to announce

we are now shipping the VTX-100 video transmitter.

Just to be absolutely clear, we have units ready to ship now.

We are manufacturing more units & perform quality control in-house.

We are not asking for a deposit to place an order. Price is $2000 USD.

The VTX-100 ships with a 6-pin Hirose connector for power & video input. We have shut off the audio sub-carrier with software because most folks don?t seem to need it.

If you have general questions, please check out our website ~

our homepage is : http://www.dynawave.ca/

technical specs : http://www.dynawave.ca/vtx-100.htm

FAQ information : http://www.dynawave.ca/faq.html

on-line order form : http://www.dynawave.ca/orderform.shtml

If you have specific questions, please contact me directly at sales@dynwave.ca

and I will answer them as promptly as possible. The company website lists a phone number for daytime calls.

Like you, I work in the Film & TV production industry for my living. I know the Writer?s strike has impacted all of us in one way or another. We are continuing to work on the VTX-100 with the knowledge that one day we will all go back to work.

best regards,

dave

Doc, I think you've answered your own question, at least based on the pictures we've seen of the mysterious 4000. No way HD-SDI is being transmitted by a box that size, not yet anyway.

I hope I can be proven wrong about this sooner rather then later.
