Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted March 9, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 9, 2007 I just watched the documentary "Jesus Camp" and noticed a funny discourse between Ted Haggard (the now disgraced evangelical preacher) and the steadicam operator on the film (I believe it was Andrew Janson) during a sermon by Haggard. The scene I'm referring to is in the deleted scenes section and is called "Ted Haggard's Sermon". There is some nice steadicam work in the film, and the film itself is an eye opening look at evangelical christians and there "teachings" to children in the United States. I'll keep my personal opinions to myself (although it's tough), but the film is definately worth seeing and is quite well done, nicely shot, and very entertaining. I'm curious if anyone else has seen it and what your thoughts are. Here's a link to the website for Jesus Camp
Alex Olszewski
I live in the middle of Evangelical America and am probably the only non-Evangelical in the state of Arkansas. Evangelical Pros: If you're ever stuck on the side of the road, these people will offer to help you while most people will drive right by. Evangelical Cons: Some odd beliefs, eg, Rapture, and sometimes hostile to mainstream Christians. The film tips its hand by focusing on the most extreme element, kinda like focusing on Hezbollah when making a documentary about Islam. Premium Members Afton Grant Posted April 1, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 1, 2007 Said shot has been posted to SteadiShots. I found it very entertaining. http://www.steadishots.org/shots_detail.cfm?shotID=241 It's funny that Ted asks the same question that we all are asked over and over: "Does it float on its own?" It's so interesting that people think the equipment somehow changes the laws of gravity for everything attached to it. I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank my good friend Alan Dague-Greene for submitting that shot, among many, many others. At this point, Alan is probably responsible for the capture of nearly half the shots on the site. A little over a year after its launch, the database now contains 211 and counting. Thanks to Alan and to everyone else that has contributed their shots, links, suggestions, commentaries, feedback, referrals, and whatever else. It is all so greatly appreciated. Best regards, Afton

Premium Members Amando Crespo Posted July 11, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 11, 2007 In this affaire, I only can see a perfect steadicam shot, and a operator without nerves doing his work. Great for the operator. ;) Escuse me, Andrew, I wasn´t forget your name... Hurra! for your shot.
