Archer Monitor

Hello Archer owners

 

I wanted to pass along some service information that I received yesterday from Kyle and the great service staff at Steadicam in Glendale, CA.

I found that the Audio (RCA) jack on the rear of my monitor was very loose and I was certain that the retaining nut on the back side was about to take a walk inside the unit and would short something out. I called Kyle and he had the answer for the shop in less than 90 sec. and I?m passing it on to you with Kyle?s compliments.

 

1. Take the monitor off the rig and place it on a padded surface.

 

2. Find 2 old Credit cards or any card of that size and thickness and apply double stick tape to one of the long sides of the card right along the edge the entire length.

 

3. Place the monitor face up with the knobs away from. Find the groove between the outer plastic frame, which is rounded over on the outside edge and the rectangular monitor casing. The monitor is the same one as the Flyer it?s just in this larger housing.

 

4. Insert the first card with the tape facing towards the glass in the groove on either the left or right of the screen. The entire card will fit in the groove with some room on the top and bottom. Now insert the second card on the other side with the tape facing the glass or center.

 

5. OK now, stand the monitor up and tilt it slightly forward so that gravity can help you at this point. Alternating between each card slide them up and down the groove while applying slight pressure in the direction away from the glass or center. The objective is to depress the 4 tabs that are holding the monitor in place. This may take some time but you can hear them ?Click? when you release them.

 

6. The monitor should fall out of the opening when you?ve found all four. The monitor is connected to the circuit board by one cable that?s just long enough to lay it face down on the padded surface and get in there to tighten things up.

 

Warning ? Kyle warned me not to over-tighten the audio jack because they are known to strip out very easily. I used a light hand and a drop of Lock Tight which should keep it from loosening up on its own.
