Premium Members Imran Naqvi Posted March 19, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 Take a look! Does Greg still have these?
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted March 19, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 That's a hoot! Although the "floaty pen" concept will forever be associated for me with the recent episode of the Ricky Gervais show "Extras" that featured one--anyone catch that? Premium Members Dan Coplan Posted March 19, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 9.99?! I have two of these that Greg gave me when I swung by to visit him on set. As far as I know he has a whole box full that he never got around to emptying. Hmm...$9.99 x 500 pens... I gotta call Greg. All of a sudden every pen I have just ran out of ink! What a great sequence. It seems at first that they are cutting around the shots of De Niro because they don't actually have him on the show; then you see him; then the pen.............priceless. If only DeNiro knew what was being done with that pen just hours before.... Excellent show. Too bad so few episodes per season.

Actually Charles maybe you can get that company to design a pen where the Steadicam op trips over and begins to stumble towards a picket fence but is caught by a PA :o As the new op here, I'm going to get one made where I stand still but the more you try to hold pen level the more the background moves!!! Perfect!
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted March 20, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 20, 2007 Excellent show. Too bad so few episodes per season. I've recently had the pleasure of working with Ashley Jenson who played Maggie on "Extras" (she's on Ugly Betty) and after gushing about the show a bit, had some in-depth chats about the particulars. It looks like it's going to follow in the footsteps of its illustrious predecessor "The Office", i.e. 12 episodes and out, but maybe a special. Other favorite moment this season has to have been the Bowie cameo and song--"Little fat man who sold his soul...pathetic little loser"

Short and sweet. They don't get run into the ground like many comedies we know. How about when Ian McKellen was giving his acting advice? "How did I know what to say? It was written on pieces of paper. How did I know where to stand? People showed me."
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted March 20, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 20, 2007 Now that I've thoroughly hijacked this thread away from all things Steadicam... How about this for timing? http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/03/20/t...reut/index.html Yeah, from now on I'll be breaking ALL of the entertainment news first, ahem.
