Imagine the pressure on everyone to not blow the take. On the other hand, there are several places in the sequence that cry out for a cut to a CU, IMHO, demonstrating that a marathon steadicam shot doesn't always serve the story. I can only imagine being 3+ minutes in and having go Don Juan or backwards up the final flight of stairs, complete with an unwinding pan back to Missionary in the middle of the staircase (and tilting down to the floor!) " That's the part that has my mouth drop more than anything - not just because of difficulty, but more because of WHEN it happens. An end like that to such a crazy move is definitely an astonishing thing. I think everyone here wondered if he switched to Don Juan or hoofed backwards for that. It was a fast ascend but not too many stairs; I suspect he did it backwards because of the turn, etc. Would love to know. As for Close Ups. I kind of liked them opting out on those. Maybe its because I've been doing too much TV where everything "needs" a close up. Sometimes I think the action tells us just as much as someone's face. Would have been a good shot for a Flyer. This is one of the few videos on the site that I only have in Windows Media format (the norm is Quicktime). WMV is not entirely reliable. I'd love to have a Quicktime version if anyone has one, or knows how to convert WMV to Quicktime (not as easy as you'd think). Sorry for any inconveniences everyone.
