Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted January 8, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 8, 2004 So here the picture: The rig was put together at the Malibu Workshop back in January 2000. GB is flying a Mini with a ProVid Gimbal topped with Charles Papert's SL Cine 35 and using his PRO arm with an arm adaptor... Talking about mix and matching... Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted January 9, 2004 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted January 9, 2004 Hi guys, Just ask here... But anyways, I will reply here so I don't have to do it several times. The Camera was a 35mm SL Cine. The Camera weights in at 5.5 lbs including the Black widow (Videotab) plus Lens, Mattbox, Mag, I don't think that there was any film in the Camera. It balanced quite nicely with the stock LCD and one Hytron 50. Drop time? No idea, I think that Charles or Garrett could give a better idea... Here one more pix: Roland Katz (the biggest guy) with the mini and Courtney Moser (our smallest) with the master and Compact... That what you see here is the Prototype Mini Arm that worked soooo well, but will never see the light of day... So basically you can/could balance heavier Cameras on the Mini, if you had a better arm... Erwin Landau, SOC www.landaucamera.com
Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted January 10, 2004 Moderators Report Share Posted January 10, 2004 That what you see here is the Prototype Mini Arm that worked soooo well Yeah. One hell of a sexy arm... too bad. Peter, I got to see your Mini now with all the mods you've done. (I believe he was making a similar arm and a custom carbon fiber vest?) TJ Williams
New Mini arm showed up at NAB very cool booming very smooth. having flown an SK and some other "light" rigs" I was really impressed, this moved like somthing much heavier, without pulling down! I can see us all doing this at 90 years now, tiny HD or 2K camera and the mini. See this picture Garret and the inventor of the smallest full HD camera/recorder at the show. Garrett was flying this all around the booth on the mini.
