Walter Klassen makes a great vehicle mount, and it's reasonably priced around $800. It is adjustable just like the socket block for his back mounted harness. It will mount to speedrail or a mitchell mount. I need to do a 30 min continuous shot on the beach along the waters edge. Exactly like a POV of a runner minus the bounce. I was thinking a 4 wheeler would work at about 8 mph. I'm trying to figure out if I need a steadicam with that Klassen mount to hard mount the steadicam OR is there a hard mount that can do some stabilization other than a steadicam? If I used a car any suggestions??? I just don't know if a car mount is good enough. I know I can do some stablization in post but clearly want the smoothest possible solution. I guess my question is. How the heck can I get a stable shot that long up the beach? Steadicam or mount... AND where the heck can I rent or hire that in LA or orange county? As to where you could find it I am available.... :-) Have a hardmount, no 4 wheeler but I am sure we could scrounge one and a good driver up. Do you think we could get very smooth footage up the beach for 30 min? I mean physically as an operator? it's no problem... OR we would mount it to the 4 wheeler? We can throw a hpx170 or red one on your set up, easy? What kind of steadicam are you working with? Send me an email with what you would charge to come down to San Clemente for the day. I say the day but it would probably be 4 hours or less work... We just need to go up the coast a few times :) I'm trying to figure all this out for these people with a big idea.
