Premium Members Charles Papert Posted April 16, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 16, 2007 The previously announced RED 18-85 zoom seems to have been replaced by an 18-50 lightweight close-focus 2.8 zoom (http://www.red.com/lenses.shtml). This could be a great Steadicam lens regardless of shooting platform (it is a PL mount lens), as it is reportedly in the 3 lb range and only 5" long. Of course everything depends on the optical quality but definitely worth keeping an eye on...and at a $6K price tag, may be a great "owner"!
