The Technology is called organic light-emitting diode (OLED). It's been in R&D for years and it's now just making it to market. Sony just had their demo OLED's on display for the first time 2 months ago at a trade show in Europe. Good Things - Low heat, Flexable, Thin and Bright. Bad Things - 3x the price of LCD & Short display life. To find out more just Google "OLED" . Don't get me wrong, they will replace LCD displays... someday.
