Hi Dan, I've got an old 1969 Les Paul Goldtop and a early 40's Gibson acoustic that should probably be given a little more love than they've seen lately. A new set of strings would be a good start. Funny how I progressed from Marshall half-stacks in the 70's to smaller and smaller amps and finally sold my old Mesa Boogie .50 cal when I moved to Las Vegas. Been eyeing some of the Line Six amps lately.

So many things of interest and so little time to explore and enjoy it all......

I know it can't compare to the real thing, but I've become an expert with the Guitar Hero video game and have become slightly obsessed with it. If anyone was at the SOA May workshop, you probably heard enough about it from me.

It uses a wireless guitar with 5 buttons, a strum bar, and a whammy bar to reproduce popular rock and metal songs, note for note. It involves an incredible amount of concentration and rhythm to nail down the notes with precise timing, especially when playing in HARD and EXPERT modes. Here's a great YouTube video of an addict playing the game:

After way too long away from my axes, I've been getting back into playing guitar. Anybody else out there jamming on something and interested in a little acoustic jazz folk metal shred?

Dan

Is the cowbell position still open, or did David snatch that one up?

Dan,

When you get ready for your east coast tour I am in Atlanta ready to go. I paid for most of my college with a jazz bass scholarship. I just bought a new Ampeg SVT4 PRO and I am itching to hear how it sounds in a stadium with 65,000 screaming fans in the background! Just let me know.
