Antlers and the XCS sled

Do any of you XCS Ultimate owners use Antlers with your rig? Are there any compatibility problems mounting them to the XCS dovetail plates in regular mode? How do you mount them to the XCS sled for low mode? I have a job coming up where these might be better than my gyros (sound issues) but I want to make sure they are going work with my gear before purchasing. Thanks.

PS Any pictures of these in action would be much appreciated.

Hey Brooks,

The XCS plates are exactly the same widths as any other Camera plate and have the same locking angle as well, so they will fit just fine. I used to own a set of Antlers, see picture. Worked just fine.

Greg is making (or can make you) an adapter for the Anton Bauer Plate (for Low mode) or just add some Gold pins to a camera plate (that's what he did for me (Geoff Shotz owns mine now).

Hope that helps,

Erwin

Erwin,

Thanks for the quick response. You are the best! I will be calling both Greg and Will for a little more info on the set-up you showed me. How would you go about mounting Anton Bauer gold pins to a camera plate as you suggested instead of Greg?s bracket (I don?t know what the turnaround time on the bracket might be)? Which of these two solutions would be best from a stability/cost/speedy-delivery standpoint? Does anyone else out there have any thoughts on mounting Antlers to an Anton Bauer battery mount? Thanks in advance and thanks again Erwin for your speedy response?you always have well thought out solutions (and pictures!).

Greg is out of town (Family related) for at least the next 3 weeks. So speedy is not in it right now unless it's already build and sitting on his shelf. But still call him, he is answering his Cell phone. He might have some on the shelf.

Give Geoff Shotz a call (310-880-2233) he has my plate conversion and he is mainly on stage... (hint, hint). It's the fastest, 3 holes at the right position and 3 gold pins... done.

Later bro...

Thanks again Erwin. I sent Geoff a message regarding the design of his plate. Greg is up for building one of Will's adapter plates once he gets back to town. I think I'll be covered one way or another. I will be heading out of town to start a show in a little over a week, and for time's sake, I'm curious if anyone else out there builds something like this. Thanks in advance to anyone out there who might have a lead.
