I was just wondering.

And if you did get one, did you stand in line next to people saying, "the 17XD4r that apple uses is twice the Thz of the 55Fx3 that Microsoft has. ha ha ha" and so on?

just curious.

No, but should have. Probably could have made a day rate on ebay for it.

Yes, but you would've had a rather small window in which to do so: the time between the release last night and the articles published this morning about how there are still plenty available to purchase at retail stores.

Why does it please me so to know those "can't live without it" people that lined up on the streets on MONDAY did so for nothing? The time they could've spent working, they could've made enough money to buy an iPhone for every member of their Dungeons & Dragons club.

Personally, I think the device and software look awesome. I'm going to let the bugs of the first generation work themselves out before I get one for myself. Also, AT&T has a bit of work to do service-wise before I convert.

Wow, I just looked it up. There's a ton on ebay today. Weren't that many yesterday.

Well, worst case scenario is that I would have had to keep it. Darn

Yeah, I checked it out too. There are a handful of lucky folks that sold theirs for $1000 or more (like THIS lucky bastard). Of course, there's an equal amount of UNlucky folks that realized (or will soon realize) they just paid way more than necessary for the device.

If I weren't stuck on Verizon with my Treo for another year, I'd be all over that thing. But, as it is, I think I'll wait for revision 2, while I try and keep the Treo from crashing. :P (I can often tell that someone's called me because it resets itself)

Hey guys,

I did get an iPhone!!! I didn't wait in line for days or anything..I actually went to an apple store about 7:30pm...wasn't even thinking about buying it figureing they were already out...but just wanted to see it, touch it, play with it. I loved what I saw, asked how quickly they sold out...and she said there still was quite a few in stock. So, then came the decision to buy or not...obviously I bought.

I am loving it so far, for being a first edition...it is fantastic, still trying to get used to the keyboard, but I have big clumsy fingers. But overall, very easy to use. Being on the slower network kind of blows...but I can deal...but you can hop onto anybody's wifi network that will let you and use that for internet. The phone will atomatically switch over to the faster network.

Also, I don't know if people realize...it is a Mac OS on there...so they can update the software just like you would your iPod or on your Mac. So if there are bugs...you can update to get rid of them. Haven't found any yet.

Anybody know if it's worth getting one of these things to use as everything but a phone? Can you still get wifi without being an AT&T subscriber? Use it like an iPod, take advantage of the widescreen for videos, etc.?

As I understand it, the phone must be activated through AT&T to use any part of it.

So here my first answer from my I-Phone... sitting here listening to some I-tunes and surfing the net... checking the stock and e-mails... I heard a rumor that you also can make phone calls with it... tipping goes very well. Very intuitive did not have to use the manual yet. Okay what is wired... working on that tinny 3 inch screen, when I could type it on my 30 inch... logic... beats me... but it's cool.

I got mine at the Westerfield mall on Friday... they sold the last one on Saturday 10am.

I actually should go to bed now,

Later,

Erwin

A couple of weeks ago while in the US, i heard a radio report about what the other manufacturers are going to come out with next.

The main one I remember was that Sony Ericsson's next phone is going to have a Sony PSP (PlayStation Portable) or equivilant mobile gaming platform in it. This will be cool. Dont know which to wait for when it hits Aus in prob 12 months.

And of course Palm and Blackberry etc are going to update their systems also. Apple and Sony's sound the coolest though.
