Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted June 1, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2004 Steve, I still haven't heard from you but I sent you another email last night that includes a shipping address to ship John's sled to. Are you out there?

Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted June 13, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 13, 2004 Well, about 30 of us, including John were there at Dalts waiting to see if the sled arrived. Still waiting....

Premium Members brooksrobinson Posted June 11, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 11, 2006 Michael, did Byro RSVP for the party? Maybe he'll be bringing John's sled this year. If so, maybe he'll bring my transmitter as well. I've been trying (with no success) to get either the original diversity tuner I ordered (he couldn't figure out how to make one), or the transmitter he promised to build for me instead, since he couldn't deliver the tuner, or the $1400 I paid to him back in 1996. Yes...I said 1996. It's coming up on the 10 year anniversary of me writing my first of two payment checks of $700 for the diversity tuner mentioned above. Last year in June, after much back and forth he promised to deliver the transmitter to me in 30 days. He even wrote, signed and faxed a letter to my home stating his intentions which I keep for chuckles. Maybe he meant 300 days...although I guess he'd still be late. He is a real piece of work. Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted June 11, 2006 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 11, 2006 3 words.. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
Premium Members Afton Grant Posted June 11, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 11, 2006 Has any legal action ever been taken against this guy? Taking someone's money, with the promise of delivering a good or service, and then not delivering that good or service is simply criminal. With the number of people with serious complaints about him over the years, David's class action lawsuit suggestion seems like it could be a way to put an end to further harm. I'm sure he has his own side of the story, but at least make him tell it to a judge.

Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted June 11, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 11, 2006 I say we all pitch in buy Eric Fletcher a ticket to Chicago to take care of business. John's sled is gone...probably sold years ago. The $$ for the transmitter went up his nose. If he still had these items, they'd be in the mail after all the shit he gets here. Premium Members David Allen Grove Posted June 11, 2006 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 11, 2006 Look at my signature below in RED. I received an email from another steadicam operator victom named Brett last month. He wrote me because he saw my signature and read those soap-opera posts about John's sled. "I thought I was the only one!" Brett wrote. (does that sound like a victom or what?!?!) His story is the same as John's and Brooks.. and .... Maybe you guys should start a support group.. I think there is enough of you. Or maybe suggest to the police to start a Special 'Victom's of Byro' Unit that deals with this guy.
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted June 11, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 11, 2006 let's upgrade Eric to 1st class, buy him drinks and a tank of gas for his audi and maybe he'll check it out for us? I'll handle the drinks and throw in a baseball bat. RB
Premium Members Michael Stumpf Posted June 11, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 11, 2006 I'll throw in the bat. Brooks, hey my friend. No, I don't think Steve would have the balls, if he has any anyway. I think John, Brett and Brooks should EACH file a small claims lawsuit against him. Though John and Brett are probably due more than the $5000 limit in small claims, winning at least that would be something. Not that he'd pay, then you'd have to file for income withholding in order to get the money. But at least it would be something as Ron said, the owed items and/or money is long gone.
