Premium Members Dan Coplan Posted August 14, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 14, 2007 I feel stupid asking this question but I wasn't in on prep for my gig tomorrow and last time I flew an F900 was a year ago and I was hard-wired. Oh, and I checked the archives but didn't find the answer. Now that I've gotten that disclaimer out of the way... Flying an F900 tomorrow. I requested a downconverter to get the signal to my monitor and I suppose that will send downconverted video throughout my PRO J-box so I just need to make sure client can receive an SD signal on their HD monitor, right? If not, will a direct feed from the HD-SDI into either my Transvideo microwave or RF-Links broadcast transmitter handle the HD OK? Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted August 14, 2007 Moderators Report Share Posted August 14, 2007 Dan, "If not, will a direct feed from the HD-SDI into either my Transvideo microwave or RF-Links broadcast transmitter handle the HD OK?" No, you can not transmit the HD. You either have to transmit the SD to a SD tuner (which as you pointed out means that the monitor at video village has to accept a SD tuner signal into it - note: some monitors will accept standard def but only SDI which means it is useless for this purpose). If no go here, you have to hardwire HD-SDI out of camera (use a light weight jumper). Most DPs want this anyway. Good luck.
