Premium Members JobScholtze Posted June 9, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 9, 2004 I Know that some of you already know how this scam works, but fore those new here some info. I am selling my upgraded rig because i want to move up. Somebody from canada emailed me. He calls himself Andra Carl. After emailing a few times it was enough fore me and told him to f*&* off. This is the email from him. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am Andra Markland of C.F.I inc.,2, place Terrasse Dufferin, Quebec canada. We specialise in purchase of Used Camera for customers worldwide and we get paid in commission, after payment has been confirmed by the seller to the buyer.we have a customer interested in purchasing your (Cinema Products/TiffenVideo Sk2 Steadicam)mentioned above for the sum of 9,550 euro.and we will arrange for the pick up of the ITEM once payment is confirmed cleared by you. Please acknowledge the offer and we will inform the buyer of your confirmation of acceptance to sell and have the funds remitted to you as soon as possible. Thanks Andra Second email Thanks for your last response,I am Happy to let you know that I just concluded with my client and he has instructed me to carry on with the transaction.I was able to convince him to purchase the Steadicam for 9,950 EUR ,as an agent I have my commission for the services rendered for my clients. He said that I should inform you that payment will get to you in a U.S cashier check in the amount of 14,555 EUR,the amount on the check will cover my commission and the shipping cost. So you are required to deduct cost of your Steadicam (9,550 EUR) when payment gets to you and refund the balance of 5,000EUR to the agent who will come for the pick up.I have made all arrangement with the agent to wire my commission to me as soon as he receives the wire transfer from you via MONEY GRAM WIRE TRANSFER. Please I want you to understand that I am entrusting the balance in your hands,if this form of payment is not ok by you please don't contact me.After payment has reached you and balance sent back to the agent,he will come for the pick up and take to a prepaid shipper to be shipped to my customer, while other necessary documents will be sent to you via courier service to my client. Please Confirm this and provide NAME, ADDRESS and PHONE NUMBER for check payment to be delivered to you via courier service. Regards. I am not trusting anybody sending a check without watching the rig. What a  So watch out all.

Patrick Neese
When ever COURIER service is mentioned... it means trouble.. no federal mail system...no mail fraud... I hate people like this there are websites that steal other webistes place a new name on it..an pretend to have the items..you send them money via some online service or cashiers check..and then you get nothing. Thanks for informing us! Patrick
Premium Members David George Ellis Posted June 10, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 10, 2004 I find this impossible to pull off unless the "seller" wasn't paying attention. As a buyer of stuff, I can't see anyone in their right mind be willing to pay $5,000 commission on anything other than a house!! I guess it just goes to show, buy what you know and sell what you know even more of. <_<
