Premium Members Jason Torbitt Posted September 14, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 14, 2007 That Transvideo monitor does look extremely good - also took a good look at it at IBC. I agree, the 8" looks to be the best option - HD complete with tally & bubble, and the casing / housing looks to be virtually bomb proof - very durable. It will be interesting to see if this monitor becomes more widely used over time.

This is so frustrating, for over a year now Transvideo, Boland, Marshall have been talking about A Hi Brite HD/SDI LCD "coming soon", but still nothing is ready. Transvideo seems to be the only one gearing anything close for Steadicam. Unfortunately they haven't included NTSC into that new monitor "Yet" and as far as daybright I think it only 400 nit but it does have some antiglare film in the screen. Hope all is well with you
Premium Members Bo Baraniak Posted September 19, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 19, 2007 (edited) Hey Rob! amazing how long we have PM each other over this subject! I'm doing fine but am starting to think that I will retire before I see a HD/SDI Hi Brite monitor! I do know that Merell are looking into this but have no details at the moment. I have also seen a GPS/Navigation monitor for Private Pilots called a Flymap. It's 6inch and is extremely bright (1200nits approx). Unfortunately it's not made to accept video let alone HD/SDI but maybe I should make some enquiries with the company. all the best Edited September 19, 2007 by Bo Baraniak
