Premium Members Elliott Yancey Posted September 13, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 13, 2007 Anybody know anything about a Kinor 35h? I know its russian and the DP I spoke to said it is 18 volt . I have an EFP and I am just trying to get as much info as possible. I successfully flew an ARRI 435 so any comparison to that would be helpful to me. The DP said they have steadi mags and video tap and the eye piece will come off. I is a thesis film for Uni. of New Orleans shooting in Atlanta. Any help would be very much appreciated. I am trying to decide if I can handle this camera or not. Thanks, Elliott Yancey Also, I just took a job as a yacht broker in addition to steadicam, so if any of you guys want some help selling a boat/yacht let me know. Or if some of you big timers out there are looking for a place to invest your millions I would love to offer a few suggestions!
Premium Members Brad Grimmett Posted September 13, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 13, 2007 Elliot, There is a thread on the cinematography forum about flying that camera on steadicam. It may be the same person who called you about the job. You should take a look at the thread for yourself, but I think I remember reading that that camera is very heavy....in the range of a BL4 I believe. The person who made that post commented that he had contacted a steadicam operator who said the weight would be "no problem". Here is a link to the thread. Premium Members Elliott Yancey Posted September 13, 2007 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted September 13, 2007 Thanks Brad, That is the same DP but it was not me that said it would be "no problem." An ARRI 235 is the only film camera that might be "no problem" but I would never tell a DP that because that makes the day rate seem more negotiable! I don't think I can handle that camera with an EFP unless someone can tell me different. Thanks, -Elliott
