Dueling Steadicam

Craig Fikse had me in for a few days on his current feature for dueling Steadicam shots. We joked about the fact that due to our height differences, my low high mode would probably come up to the same lens height as his low mode and we should get a pic of same. A few hours later we were doing simultaneous overs of two actors sitting on a sofa and sure enough, that's exactly how it worked out!

Fine and curious but effective.

I have had the pleasure of operating Steadicam on the same set with Brant Fagan, Jason Cullum and Peter Abraham at diffrent times. It was a joy to watch and learn a little from each and we are all about the same height. But I don't think Peter would fit in my vest

Hey Guys, you'll love this one

Production - Japanese Kirn Beer TVC

Operators Louis Puli, Ian McMillan, Harry Panagiotidis

Lens Sizes 85mm, 135mm, 180mm

Shoot Length - 3 or 4 days travelling around Victoria.

All 3 Melbourne Steadicam Operators working on the one job, all with Seitz focus systems, Master Series, Pro and a hotted up Mod2 (ex Bob Gorelick) rigs and all flying Arri3's, only 1 with steadimags.

The shot was all just rotating around the dude drinking the beer. They didnt want to do to many takes at it, so hired 3 Operators and had them all track around on different lens sizes. Keeping out of shot wasnt a problem cos they were so tight. (even without Lisagav)

And actually used real beer!

Lets see you guys in the states beet this one!

The funny thing is that Craig is 5'6" tall and Charles is, well you do the math.
