Moderators Janice Arthur Posted September 18, 2007 Moderators Report Share Posted September 18, 2007 Hi all; I have been looking for those little channel buttons on Modulus forever! Modulus repair said I needed to buy the whole thing that they attach too for $300. (plus shipping, etc.) I kept saying I just need the little buttons and kept getting the same answer, pay $300! I've done some searching on the Internet but have yet to find them. Any ideas? Thanks. JA
Premium Members Joshua Harrison Posted September 18, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 18, 2007 Hello Janice, David Hable at Cramped attic can replace the entire pot on your Modulus and the new pots are very hard (maybe next to impossible) to knock the knobs off. The only real downside and I don't think it's much of a downside is they way they new ones go on is 90 degrees off from the old one so the witness mark is on the side instead of on the bottom. He did a fantastic job, I'm really pleased with the work done. Good luck! JA The problem is that those dials are held in place by a little mushroom shaped end on the plastic post which has broken off. They won't stay on if you could even find new ones. And I'm told they no longer make that switch. I had someone remove the old ones and solder new switches to the board below and it completely ruined the modulus. Had to have the board replaced by CIT for a lot more than $300. That price actually sounds reasonable.
Moderators Janice Arthur Posted September 20, 2007 Author Moderators Report Share Posted September 20, 2007 Lawerance; Cramped Attic seems to have this "little module" replacement down for $175 a button and they don't come off. They also tweek the units to fix any other issues. I've got a lead on one other guy but haven't had a chance to call him. Janice
