Premium Members Julian Cheng Posted September 19, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 19, 2007 Hi guys, I need to fly a 435ES, 535B and a Arri-3 in Shanghai in October. One thing I'd like to ask is how many power I need for these cameras? I tested a Arri-3 with Crystal Sync, set it to 100fps, 12V power output. I only can get 80 fps, it that the problem of my batteries? I used three 126W batteries for the test on Arri-3, but it seems that they don't have enough power to run up to 100fps...what is the problem? I am thinking to get some batteries which are 160W, with 11Ah. And test it the week... Yours, Julian
Premium Members Frederic Chamberland Posted September 19, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 19, 2007 Hi Julian, You need to power the Arri III with two 12V cables to get more than 80 FPS, one in the crystal base, one in the camera. Your batteries should be fine. The only problematic camera would be the 435 that needs a lot of amp's to start. The 535 and 235 should be ok also but you did the right thing by testing the Arri III before shooting. Make sure you do the same with the other cameras. The Arri III will be the only camera to require 2 power cables in the Arri family. Fly safe.
