Richard James Lewis
Hi guysDoes anyone have any idea what's rotten in Denmark, (sorry couldn't resist that one). I ordered paid for an SSV1 vest from Jan at the end of August on the basis he would be using it at IBC2005 as a demo. Afterwards he would ship it to me in Australia. I have so far received a couple of vague promises during Sept but during October he has not answered any of my numerous emails, voicemails and faxes. I have read posts that attest to his lack of communication at times but he always seem to come through. This is starting to worry me a bit though. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Norbert von der Heidt Electric Images Yeah, he always seemed to get back to you in the end, but of late he hasn?t responded to any of my emails at all. (I bombarded him with them for about a week, with polite reminders to get back to me.) I've given up with Progear totally, and I suggest you do the same in the future. Good luck with the vest, -Rick. Best Regards Johan Windfeld. jwindfeld@hotmail.com Cheers Johan. This may be true, but it shouldn't, no matter how "busy" take over a month, if at all, to respond to an email. I even had occasions where I know he has been selective in responding to emails. This is the thing that pisses me off the most. I even sent a message to his ebay auction (where he was replying to questions about his products) and asked him to respond to me (so he obviously got my message, but chose not to reply) How is he supposed to keep a client base, if he neglects enquiries. -Rick "thank god for mk-v" Lewis. Johanwindfeld
Hello Rick. Well you are right, and if it was my buisness the support would be a lot different.. I think any owner of a company wants the best service.. I think so too that the respons of emails is selective and that is a problem.. And in the end it's ProGear that loses the money and costumers! but still if anywone have a serius problem with Progear I will try to get that problem resolved. johan.
Matt Burton
for gods sake all he has to do is employ a skivy to answer Emails and all is dandy no ? -matt
Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted November 3, 2005 Moderators Report Share Posted November 3, 2005 "Progear is only a company with 2 people!!!!" Hope I'm not giving away trade secrets, but the last time I checked GPI (the real PRO) had only 3 (at times 4) people. XCS and Bartech have a whopping total of one each (granted, a lot of stuff is outsourced). Walter Klassen carries a few more on staff, but only a few of them work on Steadicam harnesses (mostly Kornel). Most of the equipment we use is made by very small companies. The ones that succeed not only make great products, but they back it up!
costasflex
Hello there. ill slip in to tell my oppinion about all this bussiness. 2-3 PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE ORGANISED AND TRULLY RESPONSIBLE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS,is enough to get this bussiness going.Everything is made in small factories machine shops with quality control so once you have some good and reliable assosiets good respond and customer support shouldnt be a problem. As I can see Jan is making some very serius products and should have this kind of assosiets to work with. If not he has to find some new ones. Baer - bel has exelend service and is a one man show. As for answering emails please you can answer 100 emails in 2-3 hours. I dont think the company gets that many but even if they do they should consider them selves blessed and hire more companies to produce more and better products instead of loosing customers and get bad reputation. I too believe that he makes good stuff but if I wanted to buy something it would be something I can repair my selve and I would fly there for imidiate purcase.Instead of loosing working days with countless delays and excuses.if you live in europe that is. the rest of you have the main players living next door-for usa that is. Premium Members markdeblok Posted November 5, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 5, 2005 So, to me it is all very clear; do not buy anything from pro gear if you do not live in denmark (next to Jan) mark de blok

JensSchroder
My experience with Jan is very bad and I just can recommend not to do business with him. In the end I lost some money and was insulted by him in addition. I was close to driving up to Copenhagen and talk to him in person. Cheers, Jens P.S. If anyone has questions feel free to contact me
Matt Mouraud
I was ready to buy a complete system from him, but he just stopped replying to my emails all in a sudden. And then he surfaced up like 2 months later. Glad I didn't buy anything from him. It's sad though, since we don't have so much dealers in europe... Premium Members Norbert von der Heidt Posted December 1, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 1, 2005 (edited) Hi guys and gals Just to update all those interested, The vest was supposedly shipped out via Denmark Post on November 9 and it has still not arrived. The tracking number Jan gave me is not valid with Denmark Post and he has refused to answer my last 3 or 4 emails asking for info. This will be my last dealing with this company. I can accept a lot of things but not being ignored, especially after they have my money. I understand a one man band can run into difficulties at times but I don't seem to be the only one and this seems to be a chronic problem with Progear. In my opinion, if you can't do it right, don't do it at all. Thanks to all those who contacted me with their tales of woe. At least I'm in good company - Ha- Ha - Ha!
