Premium Members Dave Thompson Posted October 21, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 21, 2007 Demoed this on the movie I just finished. Liked it enough to purchase one. Contact David Hable @ Cramped Attic (604)254-8619. Specify which ant. you want. I went with a BNC. Channels 14-69. 10-36VDC. PRO cable compatible. What else can I say, same size as the Modulus and a nice replacement or backup without the headache. David is a nice guy and will listen to complaints or compliments(i.e. suggestions on how to make it better). Dave Thompson
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted October 21, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 21, 2007 Nice David. If you have the opportunity to do a "shoot-out" with it against a Modulus somehow (both units on the same moving source, feeding two monitors) and report back the results, that would be great. Premium Members Dave Thompson Posted October 22, 2007 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted October 22, 2007 $2000.00 and it is the same cable as the PRO, video and power all in one. We did a side by side with the Modulus and it was equal. Dave
Premium Members Denny Kortze Posted October 30, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 30, 2007 I just purchased one of these transmitters. I am currently doing an arricam job that had a canatrans on it. When we swapped it out, the cramped attic transmitter was as good or better than the canatrans. I will be using it every day in New York City until the movie wraps in December, I will post more info after I have used it for a few weeks. The stock antenna (non bnc connector) is very small and nice, the unit itself is quite small, much smaller than the canatrans. Great product so far. Premium Members Frederic Chamberland Posted October 30, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 30, 2007 Got one this week. Will try it out next week and post my review. One good thing for modulus owners : you can use your modulus cables with it, it has the same pin configuration on the hirose connector. Also sends audio. So to complete Dave's post: the sender has the Hirose connector found on Modulus and David Hable can offer the PRO cable that sends video and power thru the same cable. Model is VAT-25. Specs (from manual) RF power output : +20dBm +/- 2 dBm Spurious signals: >40 dBc Phase noise: -75 dBc/Hz at 500 KHz offset DC in: 10/36 VDC Reverse polarity protected Channel 14/69 UHF Video in: 75 ohm Composite NTSC 1 Vp-p Current dram : <350mA Frequency stability: +/- 20 PPM Audio in: Line level 200 to 250 mV RMS Operating temp: -20/+85 Celcius Weight is 130 g Aluminum housing dimensions: 7.8 X 5 X 2.5 cm 2 year warranty on parts . The up and down arrows selects channel and locks the channel if you press both buttons for 3 seconds. On/off switch at the bottom. cheers.
