Wireless for Steadicam?

Recommended Posts

I am considering buying a steadicam, but my biggest concern is a wireless transmitter and receiver. I would be using the steadicam to shoot live concerts. I have done some research and what I've found so far is that some of the "better" units like modulus are actually illegal in the US. And that many of the 2.4 Ghz transmitters are sketchy. What would you recommend. I am getting set to upgrade to all HD cameras so I don't want to sacrifice quality, but neither am I rich! Is getting a licence from the FCC an option? With everything going all digital, should that affect my selection?

Thanks,

Matt

Most handheld wireless units out there are for viewing only. You cant use them for live recording. if you are gonna shoot multicam then the truck has the camera including the transmitter for you. The are expensive units. Its not only video it sends, but the can control the camera from the truck too.
