Premium Members Peter Abraham Posted November 1, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 1, 2007 Hi folks, What boxes are being used if one wants to take the RGB output of the CineAlta and convert it to HD/SDI for viewing on a non-Steadicam external monitor? I've been Googling and come up emptyhanded. From what I see the Aja box doesn't do this. Whose magic box does? Thanks in advance for the info, Best, Peter Abraham New York
Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted November 1, 2007 Moderators Report Share Posted November 1, 2007 Peter, In a bit of a rush, but I got as far as here for you (I know AJA makes one): http://www.aja.com/html/products_converters_mc.html Look through the list and I'm sure you'll find what you are seeking. Premium Members Peter Abraham Posted November 1, 2007 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 1, 2007 Hey Alec, Yeah I saw that site. I freely admit I may be looking right at the proper unit but all I saw offered by Aja were HD/SDI to... something else. I need R/G/B/ to HD/SDI converted. I don't see that listed. Peter, I did a search and came up with this: http://www.aja.com/html/products_converters_HD10A.html It is a AJA HD10A. Says it has RGB inputs with HD-SDI output. Hope this is what you are looking for. Brandon

Thanks in advance for the info, Best, Peter Abraham New York Hey Peter, Try to get the newer version of the F900, the F900R. This version of the Cine Alta has every possible output available, built in at a fraction of the weight. Just be sure it has the internal board for conversions. Premium Members Peter Abraham Posted November 3, 2007 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 3, 2007 Hi Jeff, That'd be the smartest answer if it were a rental. Unfortunately, this is someone whose company owns an early Cine Alta. I've got to work with solutions for that particular body. Elegant work on " Across The Universe".
