Johanwindfeld
Hello. To my knolege the "don" is when you are facing faward and walking farward, butthe steadicam is facing backwards! and you can then film a person walking when you too are walking right in front of thet person.. so that way you can see where you are walking or running. (you cant run fast when you are running backwards) so then you have to make the "don" :D
Premium Members RobVanGelder Posted June 15, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 15, 2004 Nick, just curious, did you do a workshop? If so they should have explained! If not, I bet this is not the only thing you don´t know...... Doesn´t matter much, I did already 1,5 year steadicam before I went to a workshop and in that time I learned myself more or less the technique. But also with serious flaws that had to be corrected. At that time I also didn´t know about the DJ position, but used it reguarly without knowing. There are several explanations, one of them ( I thing Gnespolo just wrote that down) is the relation with the TANGO-dance the position where both partners look another side, so one walks backwards. Tango--Spain--hot-lovers--Don Juan........ makes sense???? Rob van Gelder :D
