I've been shopping around for batteries to start out. After looking and reading all that I can Lith's seem the way to go. I've decided to go v-mount. And eventually go down the powercube road one day. Now I'm not going to go out and get them to start. I was actually looking at the IDX Endura 10 batteries. Spec wise they look like great batteries and IDX is well IDX. The endura 10 units are great cause you can piggy back a second battery onto it. So if you need to pull more juice you can or if you need extra weight you can just throw one on.

In looking around I figure for my first year or so I really won't have to worry about that so much. Switching from G&E to steadi shooters and producers aren't going to be jumping to give me the jobs with the good toys.

So I'm thinking about starting out with the batteries4broadcast 150w units. I've spoken with some AC freinds of mine and they didn't have anything bad to say about them. I figured with the weight (2lbs8oz) And the watts they carry (I was lookinga the the 150w) it may be a good economic way to start. Just wanted to know if anyone has ever delt with the company and can give any insight.

Most battery cells are made by the same companies. So i guess alot comes down to price, customer service, and circuitry.

I bought a few of the 95's a while back, and they are great batteries. Perform exactly like IDX's or Antons, just a bit larger. They are flatter and wider than IDX's. About the same weight as dionics. The battery gauge on the side is nice, and accurate. The only drawback I found was with their charger. It works great, but the switch is poorly made, and after a ride on a plane (in my padded pelican) the switch is always pushed in, and needs a pliers to pull it out. Still works fine, just an annoying flaw.

Just FYI - you can't bring lithiums larger than about 98wh on a plane. The amount of lithium used in the 150's or 160's is too much by TSA regs, so you can use them as long as you don't plan on flying with them. Rumor also says that soon ALL lithium will be banned, so who knows.

In the meantime, I use their batteries quite a bit, and they work great. The built-in P-tap saves me a LOT when trying to quickly power my bartech or a monitor or something.

Thanks Jaron,

I know about the tsa restrictions on lith's.

The 4 battery package for the 90's with charger is $1400- and the 150's are $1900. I figure if i'm going to go this way might as well be the larger unit battery they'll last longer (each day and over time, even on a larger load). The Endura 10's i've found for 2180 for 4 plus charger (ggvideo). But i think to start out the 150's are a pretty good deal. And if i'm lucky enough to fly in the first year i can ship or have production rent batteries.

You also might want to check these guys out: http://www.globalmediapro.com/

They look like the same stuff for less money. I have heard that they are the supplier for a lot of retailers. I have heard good things about their batteries but havn't ordered from them myself.

Jess I believe you are correct in thinking it is the same battery. It appears to be the same and a Lousianna client bought some and says they are the same battery. I cannot remember his name. Convenient I know.

We have a few specials going on with our line and we give credits against old AB Batteries. We had to define the credit program. We had people shipping in 30 batteries expecting to get free rebuilds. The thing is, whether is is smart or not, people are going to Lithium Ion and we end up sitting on the dead AB equipment. Nonetheless, we still give a credit.

Ten Dollar $10.00 Credit!

One (1) $10.00 credit for each Anton Bauer Dionic 90 / 160, Hytron 100/120/140 Series, Logic Digital ProPac or Logic ProPac Battery exchanged against one of our New Lithium Ion Battery Packs! One (1) $5.00 credit for each Hytron 50, TrimPac, Proformer, or IDX or Sony BP Professional Camera Battery. One battery credit per each new battery purchased.
