Premium Members Iain Baird Posted December 9, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 9, 2007 I have a Hytron 50 that is showing a half charge on it's display but no voltage is coming out of the battery. I've used a voltage checker directly on the contacts to confirm that it's the battery and not the shoe. When on the the charger, the charger doesn't recognize a battery is even present. Has anyone seen this before? IAIN BAIRD Toronto

How old is the battery?

There is a small pinhole in that battery. Use a small pin, and you can "reset" the battery. Hope that helps. Premium Members Iain Baird Posted December 9, 2007 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 9, 2007 When I press and hold the reset button the display shows - 1 ,2,3, all four quarters of the circle meter as well as the top two bars of the charge meter. However it didn't change the results. I tried a twenty second hold just to make sure.
Premium Members Mike McGowan SOC Posted December 9, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 9, 2007 After doing those thigns on a 3 year old battery I'd suggest sending it to Aton Bauer and they can tell you if the battery is dead or just needs a tune up. Sounds like it's time for new batts.

Premium Members Iain Baird Posted December 11, 2007 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted December 11, 2007 (edited) Funny thing happened with the battery yesterday. All of a sudden it was working again. I had it open so I know that all the connections are true. I put it on the charger and it went through it's cycle, reached full charge, and when I went to use it, na da. Same thing again, oh well, between wire gauges and misbehaving batts, I've got voltage/amperage on the brain and it's time for the Dionic upgrade. Has anyone seen this before? IAIN BAIRD Toronto Hello, Yes, I know. We see this on a regular basis. Ther is more than one location in the battery that will cause this issue. Some locations are repairable and some are not. Between broadcast and other markets we have a very heavy work load right now. I recently cleaned house and let a few people go, all for excessive absentisim, but I just hired a new Senior tech who is really good on a board. I cannot get it fixed this week but it is doing you no good there so send it on in. We can check it out in about three weeks, maybe four. As for Dionics please check out our new lithium ion batteries. http://www.rathboneenergy.com http://www.rathboneenergy.com/batteries/br...lithium_ion.htm http://rathboneenergy.1freecart.com/ Ten Dollar $10.00 Credit!
